What kind of pictures should I send? That is the most important question in the entire F.A.Q.s section. The following are some examples of what to DO and DO NOT DO. Remember, the better the images you send me, the better your caricature will come out. Remember that I cannot do a drawing from a professional photographer's image without his or her written permission. Now on to the answer...

The are usually a DO NOT DO if you want a good caricature, however in some cases they can be okay. Notice that the image quality of is really not that great. Not only that but the top of her head is chopped off. If I don't know you, I can't fill in the blanks from my memory. Also in my experience, because we can see ourselves in web cam photos, many people tent to over pose for them. The best caricatures are from the most natural images. Casual snapshots make the best caricatures.

DO NOT DO!!! I have never seen a stylized image that made a great caricature. The whole point of a caricature is to have a drawing that resembles what a person really looks like. Stay with me here people, I'm making a point... Do I have to say it...? Okay, what the heck. If I can't tell what you really look like from your photos, then i can't make the caricature resemble you. Casual snapshots make the best caricatures.

  These are a definite DO. Casual snapshots make the best caricatures. For some reason I feel like I've said that before. Note that you can see all of her head. She is relaxed and smiling. She's not faking or trying to be something she is not. This is a sample of a three quarters view. That means that the face is at a slight angle. This is the absolute best angle for a caricature that resembles you. It adds depth and makes it easier to see the shape of your head. Sometimes, that's not very easy to do when your whole face is towards the camera.

And here is the finished product. Remeber, the better images you send, the better the caricature that you recieve will be. Did I mention that casual snapshots make the best caricatures?
